This photo was taken at the 1904 St. Louis Convention. In the photo from the left is Dr. George Heath, A.R. Frey, Dr. B.P. Wright, George W. Rice, and Mr. Farran Zerbe. These men were very influential figures in numismatics and instrumental to the early success of the American Numismatic Association.
In Q. David Bowers’ book, The American Numismatic Association Centennial History Volume II, the caption for this photo reads, “The photograph from which this half-tone is taken is 7 ½ by 9 ½ on a mat 11×14. Copies of the photograph can be obtained by addressing Mrs. J.T. Beals, Photographer, Administrations Building L.P.E., St. Louis, MO. The price is seventy-five cents.”
