FLORIDA

Everything is set for the FUN show January 8-11th. The U.S. Mint, B.E.P., ANA, Spanish Treasure Exhibit, and much more awaits you. The show is sold out with a waiting list. Our FUN Coin Club Get Together is Saturday the 10th at noon, Room W224G. All FUN member clubs are welcome to send two club representatives.

 

Ancient City Coin Club – had its Christmas Party Dec. 15th at The Caddyshack. The club had a 50/50 drawing. There were numismatic related gifts of $10 or less.

 

Brandon Coin Club – had its Holiday Banquet Dec. 16th at Bell Shoals Baptist Church.

 

Casselberry Coin Club – collected a new record, 357 items for its annual food drive with the help of CFCC for WESH Channel 2’s program. The Holiday Party had beef brisket, pork and all the fixin’s. Members brought dessert. They had a silver raffle and show n tell.

 

Central Florida Coin Club – had its Holiday Party Dec. 10th at the VFW Post in Apopka. The club supplied the meat and members brought a dish. They sponsored a Toys for Tots drive. The new website is centralfloridacoinclub.com. Club member David Mynchenberg, a fifth grade teacher started a coin club at Thornebrooke Elementary School with 15 students.

 

Daytona Beach Coin Club – had its annual Holiday Party Dec. 9th at Duff’s Buffet. Someone won a gold coin. They had door prizes, a gift exchange and a magician showed his talent.

 

Ft. Lauderdale Coin Club – had its Holiday Banquet at Tropical Acres Dec. 18th. Jaci Newmark was elected to her second term as President. The theme for 2015 is “A Wave for Tomorrow,” encouraging club members to add new members and YN’s. The club ended the year with 220 members. The January show is the 18th and the first club meeting is the 22nd. Contact Jaci at jci56368@comcast.net

 

Ft. Walton Coin Club – had 57 at its last meeting. Ten silver dollars were given as door prizes at the meeting.

 

Gold Coast Coin Club – had its Holiday Banquet at Mardi Gras Casino in Hallandale.

 

Greater Jacksonville Coin Club – had its Awards Banquet and Holiday Party Dec. 8th at a Ramada Inn.

 

North Lake Coin and Currency Club – had its Christmas Party Dec. 10th. Everyone brought a dish. They had a raffle and 50/50 drawing, followed by the auction.

 

Ocala Coin Club – had its Christmas Party at Logan’s Restaurant Dec. 16th.

 

Palm Beach Coin Club – had 122 members at its Christmas party. Emily Diaz received Club Member of the Year for her countless hours of volunteering. Every officer and board member received a silver eagle for their service in 2014. The meeting was catered by Columbino’s Italian Deli and Vince’s Subs. The White Elephant Sale brought in $320. The club ended the year with 358 members.

 

Sarasota Coin Club – had 37 at its last meeting. The program was “Tales of the Buffalo Nickel and the Numismatic Power Team of Laura Gardin Fraser and James Earl Fraser.”

 

South Brevard Coin Club – had its Christmas Party Dec. 3rd at Golden Corral

 

Tallahassee Numismatic Club – had a discussion on its one day show May 2nd. The club is trying to convert it to a two-day show. They had a show n tell.

 

Tampa Bay Coin Club – had its Christmas Party Dec. 9th at Golden Corral where the new officers and board were presented for 2015.

 

Treasure Coast Coin Club – had its Christmas Party Dec. 10th. Everyone brought a covered dish. Bob Whalen is giving up as newsletter editor and TJ Barbaree is taking over.

 

Venice Coin Club – had a Holiday Dinner on Dec. 8th at a seafood restaurant. Thirty-four attended and everyone had a chance at door prizes. A great time was had by all.

 

West Hernando Coin Club – had its Holiday dinner Dec. 7th.

 

GEORGIA

Augusta Coin Club – had 45 at its last meeting. Arno Safran gave a program on “A Decade of the Augusta Coin Club Medallions.” Helen and Jim Barry were presentated with the ANA President’s Award by ANA Governor Mike Ellis. The November coin show was a huge success with all 47 tables sold. The Dec. 18th party was desserts.

 

The Middle Georgia Coin Club – had its Christmas party on Dec. 10th with 36 members attending with a few spouses. A raffle followed the dinner. The clubs annual Coin, Currency, and Post Card show is January 23-25th in Perry, GA. Contact Chip Davis at chdavis@bellsouth.net

 

NORTH CAROLINA

Lower Cape Fear Coin Club – had a program by OT Thompson on “Plaster Coin Molds”. The Christmas dinner was Dec. 10th at the George Restaurant in Wilmington.

 

All ANA member clubs in Region 4 (AL,FL,GA,MS,NC,SC,TN) are welcome to send me your newsletter or info on your club every month for inclusion  in this monthly newsletter. Please send to; Swicer@comcast.net.
