From the earliest coin struck in ancient Egypt to a 1938 King Farouk gold proof “Royal Wedding” 500 piastres, this exhibit is packed with show-stopping treasures from a dynamic and revered civilization.
1794 Flowing Hair Dollar
The finest known 1794 Flowing Hair dollar, believed by many experts to be the first silver dollar struck by the United States Mint, will be displayed for perhaps the last time for years to come. Insured for $15 million, it is going into a private collection after the 2024 convention. GreatCollections, the ANA’s Official Auctioneer, bought the coin for $12 million at the 2022 ANA World’s Fair of Money®.
The Specimen (SP)-66 1794 silver dollar, as well as a rare gold 1861 Paquet Reverse Double Eagle, and the most complete collection of Red Seal National Bank Notes (all with serial number one) will be part of a $30 million display courtesy of GreatCollections.
Collector Exhibits
At the ANA’s annual conventions, we invite our members to showcase their unique collections, share research, and exchange knowledge. It’s more than a display; it’s an invitation to journey through the rich tapestry of money’s history with fellow enthusiasts and the public.
This year’s marquee exhibit focuses on the fascinating stories of the “Dexter Dollar” and the 1804 dollar.
